Training on understanding menopause and seeking support at work.

Menopause affects many people at work – particularly in the VCSE and Health & Social Care sectors, where women make up 73% of the workforce. It’s up to all of us to create a supportive environment where women feel supported and included.

This workshop is designed for everyone, whether you’re going through menopause or seeking information on how to support your colleagues and others around you. We’ll cover:

  • What is menopause and perimenopause
  • Common physical, psychological, and cognitive symptoms
  • Myths, stigma, and breaking taboos
  • The impact of menopause on work and volunteering
  • Self-management strategies and sources of help
  • Understanding workplace support and adjustments
  • Where to go for further support and information

Why is this important? Around 3 in 4 menopausal women experience symptoms, and for 1 in 4 these are moderate to severe. However only 46% feel able to disclose their symptoms at work due to fear of negative perception (British Menopause Society).

Join us to improve understanding of menopause and how to advocate your wellbeing.

Who can attend

For staff and volunteers.

The workshop is fully-funded for employees of VCSE organisations and small health & social care organisations based in the Wakefield District.
