An introduction to social businesses and trading, looking at what trading is, what you could trade and if you can trade.

This introductory workshop is designed for charities, community organisations, and early-stage social ventures who are curious about trading and want to explore whether it could be a viable and sustainable income stream for their organisation.

We will break down what “trading” actually means in the context of social businesses, how it differs from grant funding and donations, and what it could look like in pratice for your organisation.

The session will also help you begin to identify what you could trade, whether that’s services, products, expertise, or assets, and consider whether you are in a position to start trading now or what would need to be in place first.

This session is aimed at helping you understand both the opportunities and the realities of trading, so you can make informed decisions about whether and how to move forward.

This workshop is specific to Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise organisations. Staff, trustees and volunteers working at VCSE organisations in Wakefield District are welcomed to attend.
