Are you thinking about starting a community group, charity or social enterprise in Wakefield but not sure where to begin? This free online workshop is designed to help you take those first steps with confidence.

Delivered by Martin, Community and Enterprise Development Adviser, this practical and friendly session will guide new and emerging community groups through the basics of legal structures. Join us to:

  • Learn about the different options available such as unincorporated associations, Charitable Incorporated Organisations (CIOs) and Community Interest Companies (CICs)
  • Explore how to choose the structure that best suits your idea, goals and capacity.

The session will also cover what a legal structure means for your group, the key responsibilities involved, and the essential first steps to setting up your organisation properly. Martin will share practical advice, common pitfalls to avoid, and tips to help you get started in a way that supports long term sustainability and growth.

This workshop is free for people/organisations working in Wakefield District and will be held online via Microsoft Teams, making it easy to join from anywhere.
