A welcoming online session exploring what charity trustees do, why diverse voices matter on boards, and how you can get involved in shaping local organisations.

We're hosting a friendly and welcoming session for anyone who has ever thought about becoming a charity trustee, or who is simply curious about what trustees do.

We especially encourage people from diverse backgrounds and experiences to join us, as local charities are strongest when their boards reflect the communities they serve.

The session will cover

  • What trustees actually do
  • The key responsibilities (in plain English!)
  • Why diversity in decision-making really matters
  • Where to find support and next steps if you’d like to get involved

By joining this session, you’ll gain a clear understanding of what it means to sit on a board, how trustees shape the future of local organisations, and why your unique perspective could make a real difference. Together, we can help more people feel confident stepping into trustee roles, and make local charities even more inclusive, representative, and effective.
